Not long before leaving work today I heard of the massive power outages that are happening along the East Coast, knocking out power in cities including Toronto, Ottawa, New York, and Chicago. Most of Ontario has been hit, though we still have power where I live. It's said to be the worst one to happen since 1965.

I'm wondering how everyone is being affected by this, especially in the areas where the power outages are taking place. Of course, I assume if you are somewhere where that's happening, you probably won't be able to read this until the power comes back on and Internet access is probably out.

All of this televised coverage and the people who need it the most can't watch it. Ah, the irony, LOL!

There were broadcasts coming out of places like Toronto, so one could pick those up if one has a battery-operated television as long as they're still transmitting signals by air, and then there's always radio coverage.

I take it you're not anywhere where the power was out, unless you were one of the first to get it back?

Not that it isn't possible to get the broadcast, but it's funny that the vast majority of people watching the news are people who aren't anywhere near the actual power outage. People like me who are sitting at home relaxing and not involved at all :D

We're so interconnected today that it's almost inevitable that something this big will affect all of us in one way or another.
