  • How to gain muscle mass.

    Hi, I'm christian from the philippines... I got problem in calculating my BMR, I weighed 46 kgs, stand 5' 7"... how will I know my body fat level? How much protein I need and calories should I take everyday?

    Can you suggest ways on how can I gain weight? What particular weight gain formulas or supplements should I take? Is it advisable to take those formulas without going to the gym?

    Hope you help me...

    Hi Christian, I can calculate your BMR for you, but I need two more things:

    1. An approximate level of body fat.
    2. Your daily activity level.

    Once you give me those figures, I can calculate your BMR using the basal metabolic rate calculate on the main site:

        You don't even need to get it computed using calipers. If you want to, go to your local gym, but they might charge you.

        I would just eye ball it. Get someone experienced with working out to tell you roughly how much body fat you have, and use that in the calculations. It will be pretty close
