Gunter or Arnold?
Of all the competitors today, who would you say looks the most like Arnold? I would definitely say GUNTER - these pics illustrate that further.

Very close waist sizes. Close to the same height, too!

Gunter definitely has the class and good looks to become a new muscled Hollywood good guy. Arnold knew it was time to retire and give someone else a shot. I hope the producers feel that way, too!

My money would be on Gunter. I don't know why he's not Mr. O? He's got much better symetry than Ronnie Coleman and is much bigger all around! He has done a fantastic job and think he should be rewarded better. Give him credit though, he continues to complete in a lopsided judging panel with blinders. Jay Cutler also looks much better than Coleman but got closer than Gunter. My vote would be for Gunter hands down!

I agree. Gunter is a freak for his size, but he's tall, so he looks human. Good looking fellow, well spoken. I think he would be a good Mr. Olympia.

from a competitive standpoint today, gunter wins. judging has changed a lot since the 1970s, and arnold, as great as he was, would not be able to win with those wheels of his. gunter has his flaws too, for example his blockiness in the abs and thigh pose, but overall, he outmasses arnold too much to lose to him by today's standards (the standards of the 70s are a different story).
personally, i would rather look like arnold. big arms, big chest, nice peak to his biceps, all the muscle in the right places. who looks at the legs anyway? in my opinion, bodybuilders today are too big, but that is just my opinion, and i could be wrong

Arnold was amazing, and probably did more to promote the sport in the mainstream than any other bodybuilder ever did, but I don't imagine he would be a top competitor at the Olympia by today's standards. Standards have changed so drastically, and I don't think he would quite make it. A lot would be still competitive - most notably his chest, but times have certainly changed.

gunter no doubt has made the most of his genetics in my mind. I do, however, think he has a bad genetic structure. The proportions of torso to legs is not aestetically pleasing ( his legs dominate his body). His lats have a funny look from the front. I do agree that he looked better than ronnie at the 2002 O. To me Ronnie looked like shit. I think Jay, or dexter will win the next O...if not it is a bunch of political bullshit...or maybe i'm just an idiot ...who knows???

i think gunter would be a great spokesman for bodybuilding, but physique wise he needs to make some improvements to be #1. for one, he would need to match his 2002 conditioning, but improve his lats so they look better from the front, as you said, they look funny. his legs also dominate. more focus on his upper body would balance it out. i think he could make it. i don't see why not. if he is on as he was in 2002, he is a threat to any competitor. hopefully he brings in together or even steps it up a notch for the 2004 mr. olympia.
