Paul DeMayo: September 12, 1967 - June 2, 2005: Rest in Peace.

"These last few weeks have been sort of different for many of us in the bodybuilding world. For once, I can't remember a time when so many have passed on in such a short time span. Then, to hear that Paul DeMayo, nicknamed Quadzilla, died of an apparant drug overdose on June 2 in Boston, was just shocking. We knew him from the pictures and the stories of Paul's rise to fame until he reached the pro ranks in 1994, and stopped competing in 1995. We didn't know the problems he was having in his personal life. And sadly, now we do."

DeMayo's triceps!

Paul was known for his outrageous quads and hams, but his triceps put most other bodybuilders' to shame. Other than Lee Priest or Paul Dillet, no one came close to matching Paul's rediculous horseshoes.

I saw him once on Flex Workout (hosted by S. Ray, B. Coe and Anja Langer). I had also seen on different occasions; Kevin Levrone, Flex Wheeler, Vince Taylor and Aaron Baker as guest. And as impressive as all those other guys were, Paul's arms were still clearly the biggest.

It's a shame he didnt place higher in his pro career. He was top 5 material all the way. For what I hear he had a really good sense of humor and his interviews and pictures always inspired me. He will surely be missed. God Bless Him!

Sad story about Paul. Perhaps the correct term would be pathetic, but you know what I mean.
