There are a couple of errors in the description of the suzanne somers diet.

1. "This diet limits fiber." I have used the suzanne somers diet not only to lose weight but to eat healthier foods and I have never eaten so much fiber in my life! How can a piece of fruit followed in 30 minutes by grape nuts with skim milk be limited fiber! I have also eaten more veggies on this diet than in my regular diet. This diet in NO way limits fiber! Whole grain sugar free breads and cereals, fruit, and vegetables are the best way to get the fiber you need last time I checked!

2. "You can only eat vegetables with meat." You absolutely can have vegetables with whole grains as long as they are not cooked in any type of fat. You don't have to eat them only with meat.

3. "This diet eliminates many healthy foods which is not necessary." It is necessary to eliminate foods such as bananas, corn, carrots, etc. because of their high carbohydrate level. There is nothing in these foods nutritionally that cannot be found in other foods. Also, caffeine is another "funky food" for obvious reasons. There are very few funky foods- nothing to complain about.

This diet is not complicated to follow if you read the book. It actually makes perfect sense. I have lost 10 pounds in 1 week and have felt better than ever. I no longer need to take that "afternoon nap" and I sleep better at night. Despite the lack of scientific evidence, anyone that follows this diet will see for themselves that it is a great choice. I have gone off of it several times over the last 2 years but consistently go back to it to keep in shape.

Suzanne Somer Diet

The diet is based on the principle of low carbohydrate, high protein consumption, which I feel has benefitted me in acheiving my diet goal weight.
The main goal of this diet is consumpting your fibers and high protein separate from your carbohydrate. I feel that this diet is and was a success for me. My only problem is that I didn't stick to the diet and managed to gain pounds back. But the good this to this diet is that that all I gained, not the plus pounds that people gain from most diets.
So I feel that you are right about the misguidence that is given to people regarding the diet.
