Yes, he was convicted of the double murders of his girlfriend Leyoca Browne and her mother Violet. I believe he initially denied any responsibility in the murders, but when he was sentenced with the death penalty for that he admitted to the murder in an appeal and is now serving a life imprisonment sentence. Sad story about what happened to those two women. Whether Bertil did it or not, nobody will ever know. I'm not sure exactly what the details of his confession were, since he initially denied it, he may only have confessed to save himself from the death penalty. What happened was horrible and if Bertil was responsible for it, he deserves to be in jail for the rest of his life.
That aside, he was definitely an excellent bodybuilder - he was one of the thickest bodybuilders in history and his chest was amazing. He was also ridiculously strong with a one rep max for bench press somwhere close to 600 pounds.
